Badger/Chicago NAMAHost Golf Outing Nearly 40 NAMAmembers from both the Badger and Chicago Chapters enjoyed networking opportunities and a great day of golf at the Badger/Chicago NAMA Golf Outing onMay 29, 2008, at Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wis. Golfers of all experience levels joined in the fun for 18 holes of champi- onship golf. The dinner and awards program recognized the top teams and winners for each of the hole contests, including the Hole 17 Get-On- The-Green contest provided byUWPlatteville NAMA students. Ohio Members Get Inside Look at Organic Farm Iowa NAMAHosts 13th Annual Field- to-Food Event The Iowa NAMA Chapter hosted the “Field-to-Food Olympics” on June 21, 2008, in conjunction with the John- ston Green Days Festival. This new event evolved from previous years’ 5k runs and marks 13 years of Field-to- Food events for the Iowa Chapter. The Field-to-Food Olympics highlighted the connection between Iowa agri- culture and the food we enjoy every day. Two beneficiaries, the Iowa FFA Foundation and Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, will each receive a $1,000 donation from the event. The Iowa FFA Foun- dation will use proceeds to support the Food Science and Technology Career Develop- ment Event Awards and the FFA Enrichment Center. Farm Safety 4 Just Kids will use proceeds to support their efforts to promote a safe farm environment to prevent health hazards, injuries and fatalities to children and youth. 24 AgriMarketing ¦ September 2008 Ohio Chaptermembers toured Price Farms Organics, Ltd., in Delaware, Ohio, followed by a luncheon and chapter meeting on June 26, 2008. Price Farms Organics is a premiere organic bulk material farm licensed by the Ohio E.P.A. as a Class II Composting Facility. Its owner, TomPrice, conducted the tour and spoke at length about the operation. This is an extensive operation that strives to take full advantage of all opportunities to recycle what many would call waste. Price’s constant work over the years to recycle and to maintain environmental balance was recently recognized with his induction into the Ohio State Fair Ag Hall of Fame.
