AGROTAIN International, St. Louis, MO, selects AdFarm U.S. as its mar- keting communications agency of record for the U.S. agricultural busi- ness. “The move represents a contin- ued expansion of the AGROTAIN International business and an increased investment in customer com- munications,” says Jeff Whetstine, AGROTAIN VP/Global Mktg. Smith Caskey Osborn & Barr Communications (O&B) forms a new public affairs division. Co-leaders for the divi- sion are Katie Smith, who most recently served as Dir of the Missouri Department of Agricul- ture and Neil Caskey, who cur- rently oversees O&B’s government client roster. The group will monitor key issues as they relate to ag, alternative energy and other rural priorities to provide strategic guidance for its clients as they manage their issues. Scherer worked for DeKalb and several agencies before founding his own in 1994. Buying the agency is Scott Rodemich, who joined it six years ago and took over day-to-day man- agement in 2006. “The good news, for us,” he says, “is Ron will still be around to lend a hand — just not every day.We’ve added new mar- kets such as healthcare, telecom- munications, engineering, con- struction, petroleum distribution , manufacturing , none-profit and banking. And, we’re still proud, of course, of our relationship with a wide variety of agribusiness orga- nizations.” Bayer HealthCare, Animal Health names Woodruff Sweitzer as the agency of record for all brands across companion and food animal markets in Canada.
