The contest’s theme was Agriculture: 365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed. Entries were screened by a nine member jury and finalists were judged through online voting to determine the winner. Plachecki’s artwork and her profile will be prominently featured in Successful Farmingmagazine and Ag Day correspondence. She will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Meredith AgriMedia, and a portion of the proceeds from limited edition prints and the original artwork will be on display in a public location. RFD-TV’s annual float in the 2014 Tournament of Roses parade featured Daryl Hall performing live his hit “You Make My Dreams Come True.” RFD-TV chose to feature Hall and his Huckleberry Farm estate in upstate New York where his monthly show, “Live From Daryl’s House,” is filmed. The front of the 55-ft. float was designed to replicate Daryl’s great room and kitchen as it appears on the show which he and various musicians use as a recording studio. Behind the great room, sitting in a colorful meadow was a porch swing where Hall’s wife and children rode, complete with two of their cats. To round out the float, the meadow led to a replica of Hall’s beautiful estate. 8 Agri Marketing s January/February 2014 AGCO executives gather following the presentation of Agri Marketingmagazine’s Product of the Year (Gleaner Super Series Combine) and New Product of the Year (RG700 Sprayer).
