The board wishes to thank Alain Beaudry , Donald Côté, Louise Gandey , Élaine Grignon and Jacques Long for contributing to the board over the past years. WHAT FARMERS THINK OF ADVERTISING? On April 16th, the Québec chapter of CAMA invited a panel of three farm- ers and one advertising expert to evaluate agriculture ads published in Québec. Many of the CAMA atten- dees for this event had produced their own ads in-house and appreci- ated the opportunity to receive direct farmer feedback. In terms of the findings, the most common comment was the need to keep things simple. This included the use of less text, a specific call to action (phone number most favored) and a clean design that is easy to read and understand. Regarding Internet, farmers asked not to forget that many of them still connect over phone lines, so having a Web site that downloads quickly should be a top priority.
