The following report to Ruurd Stolp , Sr VP/Pres Animal Health: • Ruud Aerdts: Head of Global Poultry. He has held the position of Head of Global Mktg-Poultry for Intervet since 2005. • Marc Dickie: Head of Global Swine. He has been Head of Global Mktg- Swine for Intervet based in Boxmeer, Netherlands, since March 2006. • Hank Behrend: Head of Global Aquaculture Pharmaceuticals. He had been Schering-Plough Sr Dir/ Global Aquaculture. Prior, he was with American Cyanamid and E.R. Squibb . • Alistair Brown: Head of Global Aquaculture Biologicals. He has been Head of Aquatic Animal Health for Intervet, based in Boxmeer since 2001. KeyBank appoints Larry Davis as VP for its Food and Agribusiness team. His territory will include Ohio, Michigan and the Northeast. He had been with Telmark Leasing , Wells Fargo and, most recently, Agri-max Financial Services. Rabobank International appoints John J. Ryan as Pres/CEO of its U.S. farm lending subsidiary, Rabo Agri- Finance , effective October 1, 2008. Ryan will replace current Pres/CEO, Richard E. Henderson , who will be retiring. Ryan was Pres/CEO of Farm Credit Canada . Rabo AgriFinance provides a full array of financial products and ser- vices to agricultural producers across the U.S., and manages assets of approximately $5 billion. Agrium Inc. announces the success- ful completion of its acquisition of UAP Holding Corp . With the completion of the merger, UAP’s shares of common stock have ceased trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market. Keith Illa is named Sls Dir for Ag States Group , the agribusiness insurance subsidiary of CHS Inc. Prior he was with Nation- wide Agribusi- ness Insurance/ Farmland Mutual Insurance Company and has been with Mill Mutual Companies . The Board of the Farm Credit Administration (FCA) votes to issue a proposed rule to authorize Farm Credit System (FCS) institutions to purchase and hold investments in rural communities. Since 2005, FCA has approved requests by System institutions on a case-by-case basis to initiate pilot programs enabling them to make investments in rural communities. Over the past three years, 37 System institutions have made investments through these pilot programs. Babcock Genetics, Inc. , Rochester, MN, a supplier of closed herd pro- prietary pork genetics that stabilize herd health, minimize the risk of dis- ease entry and provide high rates of gain and profitability, names Jim McPeak Jr. as its new Pres. He replaces Jim McPeak Sr., who has been the company’s Pres since 1980. CME Group announces its trading floor migration is completed, com- bining all equity, foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity open outcry trading facilities at the Chicago Board of Trade building. Following the July 2007 merger of the CBOT and the CME to form CME Group , the company in Janu- ary successfully transferred 70 prod- ucts from the e-CBOT platform to CME Globex . Recently, the transfer of more than 30 products and 2,000 traders, clerks and trading floor staff from the CME building was com- pleted within a six-week time period. American Vanguard Corp acquires the Phorate insecticide product line from Aceto Agricultural Chemicals Corp. Purchased assets included regis- trations, data, know-how and certain inventories. The acquisition was made in connection with the settle- ment of pending litigation between AMVAC and Aceto Ag. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. Alltech launches the Alltech Dairy Workers Program. The objective of the national pro- gram is to increase the effi- ciency of the dairy industry’s labor force through the training and education of farm employees and will address a key concern for dairy farmers — the language barrier they often face with their employees. Pedro Caramona is named the Key Acc’t/Project Mgr for the program. EMD Crop BioScience Inc. promotes Chuck Broughton to Mktg Mgr for soybean, peanut, and cotton products. Michael Kereluik is promoted to Canadian Sls Mgr. He previously worked for SW Seed Canada Ltd. Joseph Haynes joins the eastern sales division of Converted Organics Inc. , Boston, MA. He has responsibility for all classes of trade customers, planning promotional activities, trade shows and advertising. Adam Cholakain joins the com- pany to work with distributors and growers in the southwestern U.S. Tom Abraham joins AgVenture Spangler Seed as Sls Mgr and will lead the company’s sales team in Wisconsin.
