PRESIDENT’S AWARD Stephanie Gable Fort Dodge Animal Health The President’s Award honors an individual who contributes in a significant way to the agenda of the National President. This year, Patty Travis presented the award to Stephanie Gable for her leadership in steering the organization through the development of the marketing plan and other key transitions. R.C. FERGUSON AWARD Gary Vorpahl Hoard’s Dairyman Career-long dedication and service to NAMA and ABEF have earned Gary Vorpahl recogni- tion through this award. A member since 1974, Gary has been active on the local and national level for many years. DILWORTH AWARD Paul Redhage FMC Corporation The Dilworth Award for Innovation is awarded to the indi- vidual who shows true originality in volunteer efforts. This award was presented to Paul Redhage who was instrumental in organizing events for the Chesapeake chapter and helping re-energize the chapter. MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT Melanie Acklin Specialty Fertilizer Products Melanie Acklin planned the Region 2 Best of NAMA. A member of the MoKan board, she also served as a member of the 2007 Boot Camp committee, helping plan the successful ag tour. Sally Behringer Nicholson Kovac Sally Behringer helped draft the membership plan for MoKan and also serves as vice chair of this year’s Best of NAMA Committee. Jim Haist Rhea + Kaiser Marketing Communications Jim Haist served as chair of the 2007 Best of NAMA ceremony and has been active on the local and national levels for several years. Melinda Oberly McCormick Company Melinda Oberly has served in various capacities at the local level for MoKan and also served on the national level for several events and committees. WORKHORSE OF THE YEAR AWARD Melissa Sanders AdFarm The Workhorse Award honors individuals who not only fulfill their own duties, but also cause others to work harder, better and smarter to benefit the entire organ- ization. Melissa Sanders headed up a special task force focused on converting student NAMA members to professional members. OUTSTANDING CHAIR Leigh Ann Cleaver BCS Communications Leigh Ann Cleaver received the Outstanding Chair award for her contribu- tions to the Agri-Marketing Conference committee, which resulted in a high- caliber event with an outstanding line- up of speakers. Patty Jolliffe Weyforth-Haas Marketing The Outstanding Chair honor was given to Patty Jolliffe for her service as chair on this year’s Careers committee. She has served the Careers program for several years. NAMA Honors the Best in Leadership NAMA named its national leadership award recipients at the Second General Session of the 2008 Agri-Marketing Conference held April 17th in Kansas City.
