Lance Zimmerman, Certified Angus Beef LLC Access to information via the Internet has allowed us to work smarter and more effi- ciently. There are so many more tools and resources available to reach our customers and prospects and build rela- tionships with them. What keeps you passionate and interested in your career? The chance to learn something new every day and interact with other creative people who motivate, inspire and chal- lenge me to do my best. An insatiable thirst for knowledge and finding different ways to do things better. The pride asso- ciated with accomplishing a goal, solving a problem, resolving a conflict or changing a negative attitude or percep- tion. Long-time friends and cherished personal relationships fostered through professional interaction. What is your company doing to recruit and cultivate new talent? Our agency has an aggressive intern program and several of our associates are involved with organizations such as NAMA, AD Pros, PRSA and other affili- ated organizations that sponsor student- mentoring programs. Do you seek out opportunities to mentor young professionals? I have served on the NAMA Careers Committee for several years and currently mentor a college student through a PRSA program. With every Student NAMA Marketing Competition I experience, I am amazed at the quality of talent and profes- sional aptitude of the students who will graduate with incredibly bright futures ahead of them. It makes me proud to be able to share my experiences with them. 22 AgriMarketing ¦ May 2008
