Bayer HealthCare acquires Teva Pharmaceutical's U.S. animal health business for up to $145 million based on manufacturing and sales targets. Included in the acquisition are a manufacturing site in St. Joseph, MO, with around 300 employees. Jason Andringa is named Pres, Forage and Environmental Solutions Division at Vermeer. Prior to joining the company in 2005, which was founded by his grandfather, he had been with NASA and the Johnson Space Center. Doug Hundt is named Pres, Underground and Specialty Excavation and Tony Briggs becomes VP, Sls and Distribution. Soren Schroder, currently CEO of Bunge N.A., is named to succeed Alberto Weisser as CEO of the company. He has been with Bunge since 2000 and has been with Continental Grain and Cargill. Weisser is appointed as Exec Chmn, serving until Dec. 31, 2013. Under his leadership, when the company went public in 2001, its share value has increased 500%. Karl Gerrand joins Bunge as Managing Dir, Canada. He had been CFO of Vittera and had served as Co-founder and Pres of Can-Oat Milling. He succeeds Richard Watson who is retiring. Peder Holk Nielsen is named Pres/CEO of Novozymes. He had been Exec VP of Novozymes' Enzyme Business. Novozymes also announces exec management reorganization: Bus Devlpmnt: Thomas Videbaek, Exec VP; Business Ops: Andrew Fordyce, Exec VP; Supply Ops: Thomas Nagy, Exec VP; Research & Devlpmnt: Per Falholt, Exec VP/CSO and Corp. Functions: Benny D. Loft, Exec VP/CFO. Hemisphere GPS sells its non-agricultural operations to the Canadian subsidiary of Beijing UniStrong Science & Technology Co. for $14.96 million. The company also announces plans to change its corporate name to "AgJunction Inc." and moves its head office to Hiawatha, KS, from Calgary, AB. Yanmar America announces a corporate reorganization and new management team: Doug Englert is promoted to Dir, Parts Division; John Dodge heads up the newly created Remanufacturing Bus Unit; Paul Manger is promoted to Dir, Equipment Division; Keith Wainwright heads up the Ag Equipment Bus Unit; Tim Fernandez is promoted Dir, Engine Division and Tom Watson is promoted to Dir, Brand Mgmt. Derrick Volchoff, ALC, joins Farmers National Company (FNC) as VP of Real Estate Ops. He succeeds Lee Vermeer who is retiring. The company posted record farm and ranch sales of over $640 million in 2012. Rodney Good, AFM, Norwalk, IA, is named the company's Professional Farm Manager of the year. One of 90 managers on staff, he has been with FNC since 1987. Jim Petta is promoted to Mgr of Valent U.S.A's biorational unit. He had been with Valent's Professional Products unit.
