They announce the land will be taken out of crop production, converted to grassland and the irrigation water will be pumped into the South Platte and Republican Rivers to help meet legal obligations to other states and the federal government. Water users in the four districts will pay a $4 to $6 tax per each irrigated acre. AM Marks IN MEMORIAM James H. Kent, 89, of Muscatine, IA, passed away on Oct. 29, 2012. In 1946, Kent joined his father in business in Muscatine. He held various positions in procurement, production, and sales which prepared him well for his eventual assignment in 1965 as Operating Pres of Grain Processing Corporation and Kent Feeds, Inc.
