Pfizer announces it will spin off its animal health unit through a potential initial public offering (IPO) of a minority ownership stake in the new, standalone company named Zoetis (zô-EH-tis). Animal Health will continue to be treated as a continuing operation for Pfizer 's financial reporting purposes. Novozymes BioAg, Milwaukee, WI, creates a Seed Industry Group focusing on applications of Novozymes technologies at the seed company level. Allan Basnight will head the newly created team; Kay Little is named Eastern Region Sls Rep; Bill Diemer is named Central Region Rep, and Robert Todd becomes Western Region Sls Rep. Tiago Bonomo is appointed Pres/CEO of McCormick USA. He was Pres/CEO of McCormick Mexico and had responsibility for all Argo Group operations in Latin America. Simon Phillips is named head of Syngenta's North American cereal seeds portfolio, succeeding Rob Bruns who has retired. Phillips was Crop Product Lead, Cereals Genetics for the North American cereals team. Deere announces senior mgmt changes: James M. Field is appointed Pres, Agriculture & Turf Division --- Americas, Australia and the Global Harvesting and Turf Platforms. Rajesh Kalathur is appointed Senior VP and CFO, replacing Field who currently serves in that position. Mark von Pentz continues as Pres, Agriculture & Turf Division with responsibilities now including Europe, Asia, Africa and the Global Tractor Platform. Max A. Guinn is appointed to Senior VP, Human Resources, Communications, Public Affairs, and Labor Relations --- a new senior exec position. John C. May is appointed Pres, Agricultural Solutions & CIO --- a new senior exec position. Mark Henderson joins Informa Economics as VP of the Project Consulting Group. He was with his own consulting firm, InnoPhase and had been with IN Soybean Alliance, the IN Corn Marketing Council and Dow AgroSciences. He Field Kalathur von Pentz Guinn AT CLOSING NEWS Bonomo Farm Journal Television launches the new TV program "Raising America ... Real Kids --- Big Ideas." The program will air on public television stations, with distribution through American Public Television. The weeky 30-minute show will feature innovative, enterprising youths from all across America, including many who are changing lives and improving their communities. Raising America will collaborate with the nation's leading youth organ- izations, such as FFA, 4-H, Junior Achievement, and the Boys and Girls Scouts of America, featuring kids from all corners of the country. Each episode will emphasize STEM initiatives (science, technology, education and math), agriculture, community service and the arts. Lauch is scheduled for first quarter 2013. AM
