26 AgriMarketing November/December 2007 CERTIFICATE IN AGRI- MARKETING UPDATE The Certificate in Agri-Marketing is a partnership between CAMA and Agri Studies and has been designed to provide value to CAMA members through education in agricultural marketing. Since its inception in the fall of 2005, there have been over 100 participants enter into the certificate stream with 30 having earned their distinction. CAMA is please to recognize the 2008 Certificate in Agri-Marketing Recipients. These individuals will be honored with their Certificates at the Best of CAMA in Regina, November 14th. Strategic Agri Marketing February 25-29, 2008 Guelph, ON Strategic Agri-Marketing is a 4-day advanced MBA level marketing course which focuses on the devel- opment of marketing strategies. Agri Marketing Application January 2008, May 2008, September 2008 eLearning Agri-Marketing Application is an eLearning courses focused on the development of an actual marketing plan. Over a period of 6 weeks, par- ticipants work on components of a marketing plan for their business and receive feedback and coaching along the way from course instructors. More information is available at www.agribusiness.ca. EDUCATIONAL APPROACH All courses in the Certificate are taught using a combination of lec- ture/discussions and case studies. This approach gives participants an opportunity to develop a conceptual understanding of sales and market- ing concepts and then apply this newly learned material to real-life agribusiness situations and in sales and marketing education. Providing an opportunity to apply newly learned ideas to case studies greatly enhances learning and the ability of participants to apply new marketing ideas to their own business situa- tions after the course. The Certificate in Agri-Marketing is managed Agri Studies, based out of Guelph, ON. Agri Studies is owned and managed by the father-son team of Justin and Tom Funk and is a training and consulting organization dedicated to improving the skills of agribusiness professionals.
