Peter MacLeod joins the organi- zation as VP, Chemistry. He will be responsible for both the crop protec- tion and non-ag/urban sectors. Chris Standlee is elected Chairman of the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA). He is Exec VP of Abengoa Bioen- ergy in Chester- field, MO. RFA is the national trade association for the U.S. ethanol industry and represents more than 330 compa- nies and more than 80% of ethanol produced in the U.S. Hannah Lipps joins the National Sorghum Producers as Comms Dir. Christie Scherler, who previously held the position, is now the associa- tion's Member Services Director. Lipps was most recently employed as Legislative Aide to Texas State Representative Brian McCall and previously worked as an intern on the U.S. House Committee on Agri- culture. American Soybean Association (ASA) enters into an agreement in which all of its members are eligible to purchase select new Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles at a dis- count through a partnership with the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) and Chrysler. Members can cash in on the Pre- ferred Price (1% below factory invoice plus a $75 administration fee) on the purchase or lease of most new Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep vehi- cles. This price is good in addition to most consumer incentives, making a great deal even better. Public directors appointed to the Minneapolis Grain Exchange by the board to serve one-year terms include Curt Denisuik, Canadian Wheat Board; Robert D. Gordon, CEO of DTN; James S. Ginsburg, Managing Partner at Vernon & Park Capital, L.P., and William R. Power. Scott A. Cordes, Country Hedging, Inc., is re-elected Chair- person. Other officers include Michael L. (DMI) on its Industry Image and Relations (IIR) team. He most recently was pub- lisher of Vance Publishing's Dairy Herd Management magazine. He will be co-located with the Midwest Dairy Association offices in Overland Park, KS. The Wisconsin FFA Association launches "Operation Stand Solid" and has collected more than a thou- sand pairs of shoes for Iraqi children. Ft. Atkinson, WI, FFA Advisor Gary Olson initiated the program while serving in Iraq. SFC Olson has returned to Iraq and began delivering the shoes and school supplies. With over 260 boxes of shoes yet to ship, Wisconsin FFA is look- ing for financial assistance to com- plete the task. Shipping cost is $15.90 per pair. AM IN MEMORIAM Dr. Warren Stickle, former Pres of the Chemical Producers and Distributors Assoc (CPDA), Washington, D.C., passed away on Sept. 25, 2007. He was born in West Orange, NJ, on June 17, 1943. Received his Ph.D. in History at Georgetown Univ. in 1971 and taught at Purdue University for six years where he published three books.
