November/December 2007 AgriMarketing 15 Roger Olson joins the National 4-H Council, Chevy Chase, MD, as VP of Rural and Agribusiness Dev. In this new position, Olson will create and lead National 4-H Council's agribusiness fundraising plan and develop strategic alliances with agribusiness and rural-focused corporations to support the 4-H Youth Development Program. He has held executive positions in agencies, companies and with media. He was Exec Dir of the National Association of Farm Broad- casting and most recently Pres of Rural Lifestyle Media. Joe Hodes joins the National Corn Growers Assoc. (NCGA) and will be responsible for providing marketing support to the national association, state affiliates, check- off boards and general membership, with primary focus in the development area. Most recently, he served as Dev Mgr at Grand Center, Inc. Ken Colombini joins NCGA where he will be responsible for publication writ- ing, news writing, speeches and pre- sentations. He has been with Anheuser Busch; California State Parks; California State Legislature and in the Califor- nia Governor 's office. Christina Koboldt joins the organization and will be responsible for the marketing and PR for the Commodity Classic, the Corn Utilization and Technology Conference and other key events. She will also provide media rela- tions. She has worked for Lents & Associates and Weintraub Advertising. Bradford Voegeli joins as legislative and political affairs specialist in Washington. David Melhaff joins the American Hereford Association (AHA) as Dir of Comms. Mehlhaff will work with both the AHA and Certified Hereford Beef (CHB) LLC communication efforts and will serve as the communication link between the AHA, CHB LLC and the news media. He has worked for National Cattlemen's Association and National Pork Producers Council and as a farm broadcaster. Jill Maase joins CropLife Canada as VP Plant Biotech- nology and Government/Public Affairs. She had been operating her own government relations business in Ottawa, ON. Tricia Uitermarkt joins Successful Farming as its Multi-Media/Events Coordinator for the magazine and AgricultureOnline. She was formerly with Marsh, Inc. and The Integer Group. Meredith Corporation acquires Directive Corporation, a specialized customer intelligence firm based in Dallas known for its database strategy, analytics and customer asset management. "Directive is a great addition to our growing stable of custom marketing services," said Meredith Publishing Group Pres Jack Griffin. "Many clients prefer to have a single source for their marketing needs, and the acquisi- tion of Directive greatly enhances Meredith Integrated Marketing's competitive position." Cotton Grower magazine starts an industry-wide dialog on cotton traits with the launch of TraitTalk, an initiative focused on addressing the needs and concerns of growers, consultants and ag retailers regarding cotton trait technology.
