16 Agri Marketing January/February 2012 ASSOCIATION NEWS Daily Updates on www.AgriMarketing.com The new "Ag Warriors" program is launched by California Polytechnic State University --- San Luis Obispo, California State University --- Fresno, West Hills College Coalinga and College of the Sequoias and the International Agri-Center. The program focuses on assisting returning military service-members seeking training in the agricultural field. It officially launches at the Ag Warriors Gala at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA, kicked off by a keynote address from former U.S. Pres George W. Bush. Fred Luckey is named the first Chmn of Field to Market, The Keystone Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture. Luckey, a long-time active member of Field to Market, recently retired as Exec VP at Bunge North America. The organization recently launched an updated version of the "Fieldprint Calculator," an online tool designed to help farmers explore the relationships between management practices and sustainability outcomes. Mike Miller is appointed Senior VP of Global Marketing and Research at the National Cattlemen's Beef Assn (NCBA). He was COO of Cattle Fax. Emiliano Escobedo joins the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) as Exec Dir. He most recently served as the Dir of Global Mktg and U.S. Ops for the Avocado Producers and Exporting Packers Assn of Michoacán (APEAM). The United Fresh Produce Assn names Shelby Rajkovich as Comms Mgr. She has worked for the Peace Corps, USDA and Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN). Rachel Jungermann joins National Corn Growers Assn (NCGA) as its Corn Yield Contest Mgr. U.S. Grains Council (USGC) and National Corn Growers Assn (NCGA) move their headquarters to 20 F St. NW, Suite 600, Washington D.C. 20001. While the organizations will remain separate, the joint office space will allow the organizations to better coordinate joint activities while minimizing overhead. Dr. Kenneth Baker is appointed Chmn of the Board of the World Agricultural Forum (WAF), succeeding Dr. Leonard J. Guarraia who is WAF Chairman- Emeritus. Baker owns the consulting firm KMB Associates and has worked for Monsanto and G.D. Searle. Jan Cichello joins the Nat'l Agri-Marketing Assn (NAMA) as Mgr of Program Svcs. She has worked for Highwoods Properties and The Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. The Agricultural Relations Council (ARC) enrolls 15 student members in the organization as a result of sponsorship by CCI Marketing, Park Ridge, IL. Many of the new members are majoring in communications and currently are members of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. Richard Gupton is promoted to Agricultural Retailers Assn Sr VP/Public Policy & Counsel. Carmen (Haworth) Stacy is promoted to Sr Dir/Public Policy & Counsel. Michelle Hummel is promoted to VP/Marketing & Comms and joins the assn's management team. DavidMcKnight joins as Member Svcs and Comms Coordinator. Patrick Delaney joins the American Soybean Assn (ASA) as Comms Dir. He will be based in Washington, D.C., within ASA's Washington Policy Representative Office of Gordley Associates. Delaney comes to ASA from the United Fresh Produce Association. Seanica Reineke joins the Nat'l Assn of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) as its News Service Editor. She was intern the past three summers. AM Winners of the 2011 No-Till Product of the Year Program sponsored by No-Till Farmer were announced at the 2012 National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis.
