CNH Global promotes Richard Tobin to Pres/CEO. He previously was CFO and succeeds Harold Boyanovsky who retires. Tobin joined CNH from SGS Group, Geneva, Switzerland, where he served as CFO and head of IT. He has also worked at Alcan Aluminum, Montreal, QC; the Alusuisse Lonza Group, Zurich, Switzerland, and GTE Corp., Stamford, CT. Camillo Rossotto, Treasurer and head of financial services for Fiat Industrial assumes the role of CFO while retaining his current responsibilities. The company announces it will build a new $90 million manufacturing plant in northeastern China. The new facility will produce high horsepower tractors, combine harvesters and other machinery. Cervus Equipment Corp., Calgary, AB, acquires 14 ag and construction equipment dealerships from Proventure Income Fund, a mutual fund operator. The company now has 30 machinery dealerships in western Canada which carry John Deere, Bobcat and JCB construction equipment. Graham Drake is named Pres/CEO of the company, succeeding Peter Lacey who is named Executive Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. Drake joined the company since its inception in 1999 and had been serving as its VP of Operations. John Deere celebrates its 175th anniversary during 2012 with a variety of citizenship activities including a $175,000 John Deere Foundation grant to Feeding America's BackPack Program. Also at John Deere, the company reorganizes its golf business which will now fully integrate into the John Deere Agriculture & Turf Division. Purdue University opens its ADM Agricultural Innovation Center. The $4.2 million, 2,700-square-foot facility was built with a $1.5 million contribution from Archer Daniels Midland Co. CLAAS reorganizes Senior Mgmt Team: Mark Oehmke joins CLAAS of America as VP of Sls. He has worked for Terrex Road Building, CNH and Caterpillar. Bob Armstrong is promoted to VP of Product and Marketing. He's been with the company 22 years. Holger Krumel is named Exec VP Finance and CFO. A 10-year University of Arizona study of whiteflies in cotton proves the effectiveness of refuge strategy for delaying pest resistance AT CLOSING NEWS Tobin Glacier Media donates $100,000 in the name of Ginty Jocius to boost bioproduct research at the University Of Guelph and support its BetterPlanet Project.
