He is Pres of the Iowa FFA Foundation and has been invested in the initiative to guide an Enrchiment Center providing 12,000 students with leadership opportunities. He has also won an Iowa FFA Distinguished Service Award and a National FFA Honorary American Degree. Patti Hurtgen joins Hoard's Dairyman as its new Online Media Mgr. She was with Cattle Connection. DTN/The Progressive Farmer wins four editorial awards in FOLIO magazine's annual Eddie and Ozzie Awards contest which recognizes excellence in magazine editorial and design. The awards were for: B-to-B, Agriculture/Farming, Single Article, "Is Animal Ag Endangered?" (May 2009); B-to-B, Agriculture/Farming, Web site (Jan. 2009); Best Cover, B-to-B above 100,000 circulation (Dec. 2008); and Best Feature Design, B-to-B above 100,000 circulation, "Crumbling Away" (Sept. 2008). Lessiter Publications launches Strip-Till Strategies, an all-new electronic newsletter from the editors of No-Till Farmer and Farm Equipment. Dan Zinkand is named Managing Editor. AM Farm Journal Media (FJM) launches the FJM Project Management Development Division, to report to Sr VP Chuck Roth. Joining the new division and reporting to Roth is FJM veteran Tony Behr, who is promoted to VP, Project Development Sls and newly hired Christine Hart-Nieland, who will serve the as Dir, Project Development Ops. Hart-Nieland has been with Monsanto, NCGA, Brighton, Osborn & Barr and Associated Advertising. Also joining the division are Bus Mgr John Schultz and two new salespeople, Kathy Dickinson and Lori Berglund. Charlene Finck is promoted to Sr VP, Editorial & Content Development. Former Top Producer Editor Greg Vincent is promoted to Editor of AgWeb.com, directing all digital content, overseeing the company's e-Newsletters and playing a key role in integrating multimedia efforts across all platforms.
