Agrimarketing : October 2009
14 Agri Marketing I October 2009 Fastline launches www.Auctions. Fastline.com . The new online auction is designed to offer Fastline cus- tomers and dealers throughout the country, an easy and effective tool to sell their farm and construction equipment to Fastline’s audience of over 875,000 producers. The Auctions.Fastline.com site is simple to use and is managed by experienced and professional auc- tioneers. The auction process starts with Fastline customers’ existing online account — a successful system already in place designed to conveniently organize and update their inventory. “We developed Auctions.Fastline. com to not only provide our advertisers with another cost- effective method of selling their equipment, but also offer our readers another medium to find the equipment they want,” says Joe McWilliams, Fastline Pres. Vance Publishing launches Vance Marketing Solutions, a web develop- ment and digital marketing services business. The new division will be headed by Tom Denison, who previously managed business development at the marketing firms Agency.com and Performics. Mother Earth News, published by Ogden Publications Inc, grew faster than any other magazine on U.S. newsstands in the first half of the year with a 29% year-over-year increase in newsstand sales, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation’s FAS-FAX report, released last month. The magazine’s overall paid circulation grew by 16%. The American Agricultural Editors’ Association (AAEA) announces that it will accept advertising in its annual Membership Directory for the first time since its inception sev- eral decades ago. The directory mails in December. It names Agri Marketing as its advertising sales representative. The project’s social network won the second honorable mention award. The network, launched in September 2008, has more than 2,100 members and offers members myriad ways to connect with one another, including blogs, forums, chat and video. The program is sponsored by DEKALB and the Farm Credit Foundation. Farm Journal Media’s (FJM) “Pro Farmer Midwest Crop Tour” received an honorable mention in the “Event” category. The annual tour features professional crop analysts inspecting the field throughout the Midwest to estimate corn and soybean yields.
