NAMA Chapter News Ohio NAMA The Ohio NAMA Chapter gathered on June 18 for a day of networking and catching up. The day started with a private morning tour of the Buckeyes football stadium ("The Horseshoe"). Following the tour,the attendees enjoyed the afternoon watching a Columbus Clippers baseball game. Iowa NAMA The Iowa NAMA Chapter held Field to Food Ag Olympics in conjunction with Johnston Green Days festival on Saturday,June 20. About 50 children played games that taught them about rural safety and received coloring books,t-shirts and other prizes. The event raised $1,900 on behalf of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids and the Iowa FFA Foundation. Since 1995, the Iowa NAMA Chapter has donated over $60,000 to rural and agricultural organizations through Field to Food events. MoKan NAMA MOKAN NAMA LEARNS ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA ROI AND HOSTS GOLF CLASSIC The MoKan NAMA Chapter held a monthly meeting July 8 at Lidia's Restaurant in the Freight District of Kansas City,Mo. Approximately 70 members listened to Jason Weaver,Founder and CEO of Sway,Inc., explain how social media works in an integrated marketing plan. Nearly 30 golfers teed off at Falcon Lakes Golf Course on June 25 in Basehor,Kan.,for the MoKan NAMA Golf Classic. Proceeds from the golf outing benefit Kansas and Missouri Student NAMA Chapters. Eastern NAMA The Eastern NAMA Chapter and Gibbs & Soell Public Relations recently awarded $500 scholastic grants to Katherine Vegas and Nigel Calderon,two FFA students from the 2009 class of John Bowne High School,Flushing,N.Y. Florida NAMA On July 22,nearly 100 people turned out for the 3rd annual luncheon hosted by the NAMA Florida Chapter and Southeast AgNet. The event was held in conjunction with the Florida Fertilizer & Agrichemical Association's (FFAA) summer meeting. Winners of the NAMA Student Marketing Competition from the University of Florida shared how they have benefited from their experience with NAMA. 34 Agri Marketing September 2009
