The company was founded in July 1989 by Mike Balcom-Vetillo. Its first client was A.O. Smith Harvestore Products. Prior to starting the agency, Mike had served as the corporate promo- tion manager for Farm Progress Companies, as well as the senior copy- writer for the former DeKalb Ag Research. Each company underwent restructuring, and in both instances, Mike was let go. But after starting the agency, both companies became clients. In fact, Balcom-Vetillo Design recently completed the alumni web site for employees of DeKalb Ag: (http://www.dekalbalumni.org).
