Agrimarketing : February 2009
NAMA AWARDS TREE The Badger National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Chapter recently donated $500 to the building of the Univer- sity of Wisconsin- Madison NAMA Awards Tree, a display that recog- nizes the accomplishments of the student chapter over the past 30 years. The bronze sculpture takes the form of a tree, with each leaf repre- senting one award. The awards are divided by categories and the cate- gories identified by large acorns. Each category is represented in one section of the tree and can be updated annually, growing with the success and legacy of this renowned student organization. PRECISION AGRICULTURE AND INNOVATION Enabling productivity through inno- vation was the topic of discussion at the August Iowa NAMA Chapter social. NAMAmembers gathered at this year’s 2008 Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa for a complimentary ice cream bar. Trimble Autopilot Product Manager, Levi Kettle, discussed feeding the world through precision agriculture. Kettle explained how precision agriculture has enabled more productivity through guidance and steering, application and seeding, water management and information management.
