ASSOCIATION NEWS research and training program at Tuskegee University. Barcus Stewart Agriculture Future of America (AFA) promotes Nancy Barcus to COO. She had been the organization’s Dir of Leader Development and has been with ABG. Also at AFA, Mark Stewart is promoted to Pres. He had been VP of Development and Comms. Russ Weathers will continue his role as the organization’s CEO. Leah Olson joins the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada as Pres. She succeeds Jerry Engel who is retiring. Jeremy Peters is named CEO at the Nat’l Assn of Conservation Districts. He had been COO for the organization and has been with American Farmland Trust. Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF) names Susan ReynoldsPorter as its first CEO. She had been serving as Interim CEO and has been with the Alabama andGeorgia Extensions and Southern Livingmagazine. In 1995, Reynolds-Porter Reynolds-Porter developed the community-based youth safety education program that is now known as Progressive Agriculture Safety Day. Combined circulation of the publications will reach 110,000 soybean farmers, association members and allied business partners, and will offer a minimum of six issues per year. AM IN MEMORIAM Carlyle J. (C.J.) Gauger passed away on April 26, 2015. He was 101. Gauger received bachelor and masters degrees in ag education from Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an aviation engineer. Gauger worked for over 20 years as Iowa’s State 4-H Leader. He then worked at the University of Missouri as Dir of Resource Development from 1979 to 1981, followed by Dir of Expansion for FarmHouse Fraternity from 1982 to 1985. AM Peters HighQuest Group hosts the inaugural meeting of the Boston Ag Club to bring together agribusiness and aginvesting market participants to facilitate networking, coordinate professional development, and promote business success among regional stakeholders. A New York Ag Club is slated to launch soon.
