MARKETING NEWS DuPont andMonsanto agree to settle and dismiss their respective patent infringement lawsuits pending in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, MO. Upon the dismissal of the current litigation, DuPont and Monsanto have no other litigation against each other. James Iademarco joins Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. as Pres/ COO. Most recently, he founded and managed Strategic Avalanche and has been with Royal DSM, Bayer CropScience, Diversa, Monsanto and Solutia. First-generation farmer Randy Dowdy of Valdosta, GA, sets the world record for corn yield with an average of 503 bushels per acre using DeKalb corn seed genetics. Dowdy achieved the record as part of the 2014Nat’l Corn Growers Assn’s 50th Corn Yield Contest. Koch Agronomic Services acquires the biological research and development business of Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. The business will operate as Mendel Biological Solutions and will continue to be based in Hayward, CA. Zach Hetterick joins Archbold Equipment Co. as CEO. He had been with Case IH, where he held various roles most recently as Marketing Mgr for High Horsepower Tractors. He has been with AGCOand Ohio CAT. AgReliant Genetics promotes Craig Anderson to COO. He had been VP of Sls & Marketing. Dr. Xystus Amakor joins the company as its first Geospatial Scientist, working within the Biostatistics Department at the Lebanon, IN research station. Anderson LSB Industries, Inc. announces leadership transition: Jack E. Golsen, currently CEO/Chmn of the Board and the founder of LSB, steps down as CEO and assumes the role of Exec Chmn of the Board of Dirs. Barry H. Golsen, currently Pres/COO, assumes the role of Pres/CEO. He will remain a Dir of the company. Mark T. Behrman is appointed Exec VP/CFO, succeeding Tony M. Shelbywho is retiring. Google Chmn Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors and Flextronics’ Lab IX, along with AGCO, DuPont, Google, United Technologies and 3D Robotics, launch Farm20150, to assist technology startups focused on innovation in agriculture. The initiative will support entrepreneurs with capital, manufacturing facilities, testing equipment and management mentorship. Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica plans to invest $110 million in its Iowa plants. The investments include renovations to expand its capacity and AGRI MARKETING’S STOCK INDEX SLOWS IN 2014 Composed of 40 publicly traded companies with significant agricultural interests, Agri Marketing’s Stock Index finished 2014 up 2%.
