AGENCY NEWS Gibbs & Soell re-names itself as G&S Business Communications. The agency also launches a new logo, www.gscommunications.com web site and Twitter handle Twitter@gs_comms. E-mail addresses have been changed to @gscommunications. The jolly folks at Charleston|Orwig (C|O) made a difference for the hungry during the holidays. The “Beard Selfie” campaign asked agency clients and friends to post on social media a “selfie” wearing a paper beard. For each photo posted, C|O donated a meal to Farmers Feeding the World, a platform of Farm Journal Foundation to fight global hunger. He was 87. Dye was born in Unionville, MO, on November 16, 1927. He graduated from the University of Missouriwhere he chose Ag Journalism as a profession and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. After graduation, Dye became Editor of a monthly publication promoting expanded use of electricity on the farm. Four years later, he became an Advertising Manager at Ralston Purina Company. In 1964, he joined Bozell & Jacobswhere he worked for 23 years on accounts including ACCO Seed, Nixon Feeds, Norden Labs and the National Pork Board. After retiring at age 59, Dye created Niche Marketing. AM 8 Agri Marketing s January/February 2015 VP and becomes a member of the FLM+ Leadership Team. Alison Rauchwarter is promoted to Acc’t Supervisor. She has been with the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and Buca di Beppo. Ronnie Santana is promoted to Media Coordinator. He has been with American Family Insurance. Kelsie McEndaffer joins as Assoc Client Relationship Team Leader. Swanson Russell adds four to its Acct Service Team: Belinda Wright joins as Acct Mgr. She has been with Leo Burnett and Oskoui + Oskoui. Allen Forkner is promoted to Sr Wright Public Relations Counsel in the Lincoln, NE, office. Since joining the agency in 2010, he has led public relations programs for various clients including SIG SAUER, Leupold & Stevens and Cannon Safe. Jill Heggen is promoted to Public Relations Counsel in the Omaha, NE, office. Heggen joined the agency in 2011 and has planned and implemented public relations programs for FMC, Buckeye Nutrition, Merck Animal Health and other clients. Kari Webber is promoted to Sr Public Relations Counsel in the Omaha office. She joined Swanson Russell in 2008 and provides strategic counsel and tactical services to clients such as Reinke Manufacturing, Physicians Mutual and Wolfe Eye Clinic. AM IN MEMORIUM Bob Miller passed away January 11, 2015. He was 68. Miller was born in Shelbina, MO, and attended school in Knox County. In 1963, he toured Europe as an FFAAmbassador. In 1969, Miller graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Ag Journalism. While earning his degree, he wrote for the Missourian and Missouri Ruralist. After graduation, Miller wrote for the Lincoln Courier, Lincoln, IL, and Farm Industry News at Webb Publishing Co. in St. Paul, MN. Miller worked briefly for Peterson-Morris Ad Agency before starting his own agency, later known as Miller-Meester Advertising, in 1975, which grew to be the largest ag-oriented agency at one time, serving accounts including American Cyanamid (crop protection and animal health), IMC and Pioneer Hi-Bred.
